YOMA online

The hybrid platform for a combination of in-person and online teaching makes YOMA easily accessible, no matter where you live. Online, you have no travel or accommodation costs and can take part in course weekends when you are unable to attend in person. This means you always have access to our experts for your instrument.

Examples of how it works:

  • You participate from home, but your fellow students are taught at the course venue and you are connected to them. This works well for your solo lessons, group lessons, sectional rehearsals, masterclasses and similar – though not for playing with a pianist, in a group or in an orchestra.
  • You attend in person, but one of your teachers/instructors joins online.
  • You and the YOMA teacher are on site, and your parents and your regular teacher follow the lesson online, or the lesson is recorded so that you can all review it afterwards.

Here you will find an example of an online schedule for a course weekend.

How to participate online

  • You arrange access to a modern laptop. A tablet will also work. You may, but are not required to, use an external microphone and/or webcam.
  • You prepare your computer and your participation according to our online manual, which you can find here.
  • You take part in our mandatory video check a few days before the course, where we help you with the video and sound quality.
  • During the course weekend, you will connect via links and participate according to your personal schedule in various digital classrooms, just like a music school with different music rooms.
