October course weekend with wind band and concerts

Last weekend, we had another fantastic YOMA course weekend! It was a packed weekend with over 100 lessons and masterclasses, both on-site in Vänersborg and online.

On Saturday, the talented young musicians showcased their skills at Vänersborg’s museum and the library, spreading musical joy to all who stopped by to kickstart their weekend.

On Sunday, participants had the opportunity to perform in two internal concerts for fellow musicians, family, and friends.

What made this course extra special was the presence of the wind band from the Musik- och kulturskolan in Vänersborg. They performed their own piece at the closing concert and also played alongside YOMA’s string players. The room was so filled with musicians that the audience had to stand around the orchestra, which nobody seemed to mind, as everyone ended up in the front row during the performance of “Police Academy March” and several movements from Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.” Then it was time for YOMA’s talents to take the stage, and the joy of their success was truly remarkable!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend, and we look forward to seeing many of you again in November!
