Polstjärnepriset Symphony Orchestra’s succes at Baltic Sea Festival with Esa-Pekka Salonen

On 26 August, Polstjärnepriset Symphony Orchestra gave a fantastic concert in an almost sold-out Berwaldhallen, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen and Marco Crispo. The programme included Brahms 4th Symphony, Grieg and Stravinsky. Inez Karlsson, winner of Polstjärnepriset 2023, enchanted the audience with Dvořák’s Rondo for Cello and Orchestra in G minor.

Not only could everyone in the hall listen to the talented young people in the orchestra, but also all those interested throughout the country. The concert was broadcast live on P2, so everyone could listen from home or in the car. What an experience it was to hear our orchestra on the radio!

The Polstjärnepriset Symphony Orchestra consists of participants in the Polstjärnepriset competition and course and their musical friends from Sweden and the other Nordic countries. Polstjärnepriset takes place every year and is organised by the National Centre for Music Talents, where eight professional orchestras and the municipality of Vänersborg are involved as members. The music academies and Regional Music in Sweden are also represented on the board.
