YOMA International Summer Academy

Welcome to YOMA’s International Summer Academy (ISA)! A comprehensive summer course for particularly interested orchestral instrument players aged 12-18. The course is given in Vänersborg, Sweden and is free of charge.

If you’re playing at an advanced level or are music college student, apply here.

  • You get 3 individual lessons, and group lessons  
  • You are instructed by skilled teachers and our coaches    
  • You play daily in small ensembles or chamber music groups  
  • You play in various orchestras such as string, wind and/or symphony orchestras 
  • You will participate in concerts and attend various concerts 

Teachers and professors

The instructors are distinguished musicians, professors and educators from the professional orchestras, music academies, centres of excellence and music schools of the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe.   

Practical info and application

We will offer accommodation and breakfast for about 500 SEK/night in shared rooms. Generally, all participants, except adults, are accommodated in shared rooms. We also offer lunch and dinner for about 120 SEK/meal. Once you are accepted, we will send you a link for booking meals and accommodation.  

You apply here. The application closes on 2025-05-18 and is valid only when you    

  • have sent a link to a recording on YouTube or Vimeo (it can but does not have to be with piano accompaniment) – the link is sent to yoma@yomacenter.se with ‘Recording Summer Academy + your name’ in the subject line 
  • have sent the sheet music for your individual lessons as an attached PDF file (no link) in an e-mail to yoma@yomacenter.se with ‘Sheet music Summer Academy + your name’ in the subject line

Organised by the National Centre for Music Talents, involving the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and all music colleges in Sweden.
