YOMA course weekend November

Course weekend for the Open Programme and Talent Programme in Vänersborg.

The courses take place in conjunction with Polstjärnepriset – the Course and are only given on site in Vänersborg, not online. You work with the Polstjärnepriset contestants from Sweden and course participants from all over the Nordic region. The YOMA course is open to everyone aged 13-20. Admission is determined by the instrument distribution in Polstjärnepriset’s activities.

If you have participated in an Open Programme or Talent Programme course in the last year, you do not need to send a recording. If you have not, please send a recording or a link to a recording to yoma@yomacenter.se.

All YOMA courses are free of charge, you only pay for travel, food and accommodation. We offer full board for 550 SEK per day. If you play the oboe, bassoon, French horn, viola or double bass and participate on site in Vänersborg, we even pay for the journey plus accommodation and food for one day.

2-5 November we do not have an Open Course. If you have attended an Open Course before, you are welcome to apply for the Open Programme and send a recording as above.

The application deadline was 24 September.

What is Polstjärnepriset?
Polstjärnepriset was established in 2007 by the municipality of Vänersborg as an annual competition for Sweden’s best young classical musicians. The prize is now organised by the National Centre for Music Talents. Over the years, PSP has evolved into more than a competition – the purpose of Polstjärnepriset is to recognise young talents playing classical music and optimise their continued musical development. Teaching consists of individual lessons, master classes, seminars, and orchestral and ensemble playing where all participants also have the chance to play and perform together in a series of prestigious concerts.
