Level 3 YOMA Talent

The talent programme enhances your opportunities to take your playing to the next level, for example when applying to music colleges and later for roles or positions within the music industry and music education, but of course also in your leisure time.

YOMA offers you in person and online

2 privates lessons per course and participation in masterclasses once a year
group lessons
lectures and exercises in music theory and music history
leadership training to develop you as a coach, section leader and conductor
an individual study plan and/or personal study guidance 1–2 times a year
an international talent environment with teachers and participants from other Nordic and European countries

For those attending in person, we also offer

rehearsals with a pianist in preparation for solo performances
training in chamber music/ensemble playing
YOMA’s unique orchestral training, including playing in various formats up to a full symphony orchestra, training as concertmaster and section leader, and digital study materials (only in person, but with some elements online)
solo or group performances during course and public concerts
If you play the oboe, bassoon, French horn, tuba, viola or double bass and attend regularly in person, you may be eligible for a grant towards travel, meals and accommodation (see the description of each individual course).

Here’s what you need to do to join YOMA Talent

Send a link to a recording to yoma@yomacenter.se
If the recording is approved, you will be invited to an audition and, after approval, 1 or 2 trial lessons

This is what we expect from you

You prepare very thoroughly for each course
You prioritise attendance at every course weekend, either in person or online (read here about online teaching)

If you are unable to attend any of the course weekends or if you are participating online, you will practise the repertoire on your own to keep up with the progress of the others in your ensembles/orchestras. You may be required to demonstrate your practice results via a recording.
