Fees and costs

Participation in the competition and course is free of charge. Travel, food and hotel costs are paid by the participants.

Important dates

15 March
The application opens. Information and registration link can be found at www.yomacenter.se. Please read the information carefully.

15 June
Last day for applying to the competition.
Please note that audio recordings, all sheet music and a copy of ID document, identity card or certificate from school must be sent to us latest on this day.

28 August
The participants who are offered a place in the competition, are being notified.

4 September
Last day for confirmation of participation at the competition.

5 September
Login with information for the participants opens on the website.

2 October 
Sheet music for ensemble and orchestra music can be found at the login page.

15 October
Last day notice if you want to change the competition repertoire. Email to: polstjarnepriset@yomacenter.se. Important – after this date, no changes are possible.

2-5 November: Polstjärnepriset part 1. It’s mandatory to be present on all days.

2 November
Check-in at Vänerparken 14.45-16.45.

5 November
Return journey, earliest 17.00

1-5 January 2024: Polstjärnepriset part 2. It’s mandatory to be present on all days.

1 January
Arrival day for the participants of the competition. Registration at Vänerparken from 14.00.

2 January
First round of the competition.

3 January
Semifinal of the competition in Vänersborg at 18.00 (open concert).

4 January
The finalists travel to Gothenburg and rehearse with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Concerts in Vänersborg at 18.00 and 20.00.

5 January
Final concert at 15.00 with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra at Gothenburg Concert Hall.
