Application
The application to Polstjärnepriset Nordic Edition 2025 – the Competition is now closed (deadline: 15 June).
To participate in Polstjärnepriset, both the competition and the course, you must be present during both periods in November and January. If you can only attend one of the periods, you can apply to one of the YOMA courses in November or January, which take place in parallel with Polstjärnepriset. These courses can be found here.

Fees and costs
Participation in the Polstjärnepriset competition and course is free of charge. Costs for travels,
meals and accommodation are paid by the participants. Participants who play one of our focus instruments (oboe, bassoon, French horn, viola or double bass) will have their travel costs reimbursed. The same applies to all competition participants from Finland and Iceland.
Important dates
15 April
The application opens. Please read the Announcement and rules document carefully before filling in your application.
15 June
Application submission deadline. Please note that recordings, scores and copies of passport or necessary certificates must also be submitted by this date!
19 August
Notification of participation is sent by email to applicants selected for the competition.
25 August
Deadline for confirmation of participation in the competition.
30 September
Parts for the orchestral and chamber repertoire can be found at the participants login.
15 October
Last day for making changes to the competition repertoire for all rounds, to polstjarnepriset@yomacenter.se. After this date, no more changes are possible.
31 October-3 November: Polstjärnepriset part 1. Mandatory attendance all days.
31 October
Arrival, check-in at Vänerparken from 14.30. Scheduled activities from 17.00.
3 November
Departure, no earlier than 17.00.
1-6 January 2025: Polstjärnepriset part 2. Mandatory attendance all days.
1 January
Arrival for all competitors, check-in from 12.00.
2 January
First Round.
3 January
Semifinal Round in Vänersborg, 18.00.
4 January
Finalists rehearse with GSO in Gothenburg. Concerts in Vänersborg, 18.00 and 20.00.
5 January
Final Round, Gothenburg Concert Hall, 3.00 pm
6 January (Please note: this is a Monday)
Concert at Stockholm Concert Hall.
